Submerged in Fun...
I've been on a number of 'sober vacations' in my 20 years of sobriety and all
of them were fabulous and exciting destinations -- cruises, Club Meds and great
meetings. But my most recent ITL trip to Tahiti (March '08) rates #1 in my
book. I don't know if it was the natural, pristine beauty of the islands or
the friendliness of the natives and guides, but I have to say this was an experience
that I will never forget.
It could also be because I 'faced my fears' and did a couple of things I never
dreamed I would do in this lifetime...I love snorkeling, but to become brave
enough to snorkel with the rays and sharks as I did in Bora Bora (yes, in the
water with a bevy of sharks surrounding me) is still mindblowing, and to also
experience a 'Helmet Dive', walking on the ocean floor in Moorea and coming almost
face to face with a moray eel staring right back at me!
Thank you, Bob, for the umpteenth time for everything you do for us .. keep on
keepin' on .. 'till we meet again. Peace and A.A. love..
