Submerged
in Fun...
I've been on a number of 'sober vacations' in my 20 years of sobriety and all
of them were fabulous and exciting destinations -- cruises, Club Meds and great
meetings. But my most recent ITL trip to Tahiti (March '08) rates #1 in my book.
I don't know if it was the natural, pristine beauty of the islands or the friendliness
of the natives and guides, but I have to say this was an experience that I will
never forget.
It could also be because I 'faced my fears' and did a couple of things I never
dreamed I would do in this lifetime...I love snorkeling, but to become brave
enough to snorkel with the rays and sharks as I did in Bora Bora (yes, in the
water with a bevy of sharks surrounding me) is still mindblowing, and to also
experience a 'Helmet Dive', walking on the ocean floor in Moorea and coming almost
face to face with a moray eel staring right back at me!
Thank you, Bob, for the umpteenth time for everything you do for us .. keep on
keepin' on .. 'till we meet again. Peace and A.A. love..

SPECIAL TRIP...
We are looking forward to our third cruise: we are now addicted to In This
Life! We were novice cruisers when we went to Alaska, and you really made
it a great experience. Having someone show us the ropes and provide answers
to my million questions was just what we needed to feel comfortable. I
really appreciate how accessible you both are when yet another question comes
up….and you always have the answer. Thanks sooooooo much for taking
care of the details and making each trip special. Jeanne and

I NEVER WORE A TOGA BEFORE...
The sightseeing, shore excursions, and delicious cuisine were terrific.
That was expected. However, Bob's personal touch truly made my cruise a GRAND
MAYAN ADVENTURE, a vacation that I will fondly remember for the rest of
my life!
I have never worn a toga nor snorkeled with manta rays before. Thanks Bob. You
helped me to feel comfortable enough to enjoy myself, to try new things, to meet
new people, to be adventurous in new places and to have fun. And I'll never
forget smoking cigars on the aft deck with you after dinner, and discussing
life.
What a terrific experience!
And then there's Juan Carlos.... but we won't talk about him
:)
I will be going again. You can bet on it!

I have been on 4 cruises with In This Life and everyone was wonderful.
I like the fact that Bob travels with us and takes care of all the details,
good and bad, leaving us just to have fun. What has impressed me
the most, though, is that Bob has booked us a roommate, who
signed up late and needed a cabin, on 2 separate trips. Bob has a knack
for matching up people and both times it worked out great and we
had a great time together. On the upcoming trip Bob is going to
find a roommate for me. I have no worry about the details, since we're
all there for the fun. Thanks Bob for being so good at your job.

Dear Bob:
I've been on at least 5 In This Life cruises, and have had a wonderful
time on each. I still love the lifeboat drill at the start of each cruise, and
remember being told by the bus driver who took us to my first cruise that salt
air shrinks your clothes. It wasn't until later that a grown up explained to
me what he meant: we eat a lot on cruises, and it feels like your clothes are
shrinking! Little did I know that the fun was just beginning!
Seriously, though, I'm especially grateful for the encouragement you two have
given this isolator to leave home and explore exotic places. Most important,
however, is the quality of wonderful people who always turn up in your groups,
and the really excellent roommates you have paired me with over the years. I've
made some real life-long friends among the recovering people I have met thanks
to you. We've had a LOT of fun, and are definitely not a glum lot! God bless.

"The Asutralia trip was wonderful and as usual you were suberb
in guiding us around with the emotional challenges of caring for people
when they needed it. You really are the only sober vacation Company
I want to travel with. Give yourselves a pat on the back."

I love our trips with you.
I especially loved the Australia cruise because I got to know
you and Julie much better, which was a delight. The trip
exceeded my expectations, which I'm grateful for.

Wally and took a wonderful trip with "In This Life Custom
Getaways" We flew to ATHENS, GREECE and boarded a cruise
ship for a grand trip to Israel, the ,Greek Islands, Turkey and ending
on Samos, a charming Greek Island for 4 days....Bob Kocher was
a wonderful tour director...He works very hard to keep everyone safe
and happy...He helped Wally with me when I had a bad experience with
a pill..!!!
We have taken many trips with various people and Bob is
the most thorough director..
